Aetheric Mechanics is a graphic novella created by Eagle Award-winning writer Warren Ellis.[1] It is 48 pages long, illustrated in black and white by Gianluca Pagliarani, and was published by Avatar Press in October 2008.
Aetheric Mechanics is set in an alternate history March 1907, where steampunk technology is advanced far beyond the technology of the modern real world, including two-way television communications, air- and spacecraft powered by reactionless drives, and large combat mecha. The British Empire (which in this setting, includes realms on other planets) is engaged in a war against Ruritania. The war is not going favourably for Britain, but the British government is covering up just how badly the war is going, including the fact that Ruritania is preparing an invasion of Britain.

Summary:
“The daughter of an upstanding family, and an assassin. A romantic suspense about the contract marriage between two who should never have crossed paths!”
Zion, a solo adventurer, recklessly entered a dungeon beyond his ability. Alas, that was the last thing he did. Wandering inside a dungeon for hundreds of years, as an undead, he kept advancing into the dungeon. Slaying monster left and right until his undead body underwent "evolution" many times over. By the time he regained his ego, he had already become the strongest undead: "No Life King."
The humankind, who was made aware of the appearance of a new world-class disaster monster, felt dread as they fell into the abyss of despair. "The world is… done for." Or so they thought. This was the tale of the humans who trembled in fear and him, an undead, who actually had no intention to destroy the world.
In 1977, a then unknown Akira Toriyama participated in an annual competition for new mangaka, sponsored by Shueisha in Monthly Young Jump magazine with the work, Awawa World, a short oneshot that features a mashup of concepts from superheroes to samurai to kaiju and it's all topped with fast-paced absurdist humor and even features attempts to mix modern scenarios with the feudal setting. Though his work was nominated, it ultimately didn't win. Later on in 1983, this manga would be republished in two parts in "Bird Land Press", the official newsletter of Toriyama's fanclub. The original master materials of this and his second one-shot "Mysterious Rain Jack" would be put on display during a touring art exhibition centered solely around Akira Toriyama's work which sprouted up in the 1990s and this is where unfortunately disaster would strike for during this exhibition. The master materials of Awawa World and Mysterious Rain Jack were stolen, making an official rerelease as of right now impossible to achieve.
